BRUCE WRIGHT

Bruce has coached volleyball as a personal instructor or team
coach for 14 years.  He coached for Quicksilver VBC for 5 years and Maverick for 1 year.  He has coached all age groups
of players and conducted a number of clinics for adults and high
schools.  As a referee he has worked many high school, J.O., and college
matches.  Becoming a coach was a by-product of his 30+ years of playing
the sport that he is addicted to. He believes that JO volleyball offers
the player the opportunity to improve at a much faster rate due to
better competition, detail on individual skills, and more exposure to
the game.   Bruce is certified as a personal trainer and will work to
get his players in solid physical condition as well as fine tune their volleyball skills.

He coaches players to not only play the sport as well as they
can but to enjoy the sport so they play it well into  their adult lives
as he has.  He does expect a commitment by each player to the team to
work hard in practice at improving their skills as well as playing hard
at matches and to know that winning is not as important as playing your
best (as a team and individual player) and having fun playing the sport.

Outside of coaching, playing, and refereeing the game of
volleyball, Bruce is married to Susan and has a daughter and son, 16 and
21 years old.  The family enjoys scuba diving, European trips, and
vacationing in Pointe Au Baril, Ontario.
