IN PREPARATION FOR A CLUB SEASON WE BUDGET OUR EXPENSES ACCORDING TO OUR INTAKE.
AS STATED IN OUR WAIVER, VOLLEYBALL AND ALL OTHER SPORTS CARRY WITH IT THE POTENTIAL OF PHYSICAL HARM.
KNOWING THAT MOST OF OUR ATHLETES PARTICIPATE IN OTHER SPORTS BRINGS IN THE POTENTIAL OF INJURIES.
THUS IS THIS CLUB POLICY.
A- IF AN ATHLETE IS HURT AFTER BEING PLACED ON A TEAM AND CANNOT PARTICIPATE FOR A PORTION OF THE VOLLEYBALL JO SEASON, THEY ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FULL AMOUNT .
B- IF AN ATHLETE GETS HURT AND CANNOT PARTICIPATE AT ALL FOR THE CURRENT JO VOLLEYBALL SEASON, THEN 25% OF THEIR FEES IS APPLIED TO THEIR FEES FOR THE FOLLOWING JO SEASON.
c- IF AN ATHLETE FOR WHATEVER REASON DECIDES TO LEAVE THE CLUB (QUIT) NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE ISSUED.
ALL PLAYERS MUST ATTEND ALL THEIR PRACTICES AND MATCHES UNLESS IF IT CONFLICTS WITH THEIR SCHOOL SPORT.
Immediate expulsion FOR PLAYERS THAT ABUSE THIS POLICY, WITHOUT ANY REFUND... ***************************************************************************************************
YOU MUST NOTIFY YOUR COACH IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND PRACTICE.
YOU must give the coach a school schedule as soon as possible or at least I week’s notification of a conflict.
Players will be allowed 2 unexcused absences.
· Excused absence will be permitted due to illness or school related extra-curricular commitment.
Give your coach respect.
BE 10 minutes early for practice.
When a coach is speaking all players should be quiet! Even if the coach is instructing one player.
All players must retrieve balls to keep drills moving along and help keep the court safe for other players.
Gym set up and tear down should be a team effort.
Tournament rules and player conduct:
*Are NOT guaranteed any percentage of playing time.
Playing time is relevant to performance decided by the coach.
NATIONAL/ American PLAYERS SHOULD HAVE JO VOLLEYBALL AS THEIR PRIORITY.
IF YOU FEEL YOU MIGHT MISS MORE THAN 15% OF PRACTICE TIME, 0% OF TOURNAMENT TIME
YOU SHOULD TRY OUT FOR REGIONAL TEAMS
At no time a player under 18 without a parent present may leave the tournament site without notifying the coach.
All players are responsible for club volleyballs. Team members will reimburse the club for any and all lost balls.
If a friend comes to support you, let them know your place is with your team members.
Your friend cannot sit with the team.
Only the coach or the captains are allowed to question an official’s call.
Players will respect and obey team members’ parents, chaperones and coaches.
All team members are required to stay until all officiating duties have been completed.
Leave the site cleaner than when you arrived. You are representing SPIRIT VOLLEYBALL CLUB, your family and your team.
Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated; it will result in a suspension from the tournament and/or the club!
Parent responsibilities and requirements:
Parents are required to support the team with a positive attitude and appropriate behavior. Negative comments regarding the SPIRIT VOLLEYBALL CLUB, your daughter’s team or any other athlete will not be acceptable in any manner. A first offence will result in a written/verbal warning; a second offence may result in your daughter being expelled from the club.
Parents are encouraged to attend practices, tournaments and help out on the court.
Discuss with the coach how you may help during practices and tournaments.
Our coaches are instructed to refuse to discuss any parental complaint at practice or tournament sites.
If, as a parent, you find it necessary to lodge a complaint with the coach, please call the coach to schedule a time to meet.
*Parents may not at any time, approach a coach a in a hostile manner. This will result in immediate expulsion from the club.
If a parent gets irate with a coach at a tournament site, the coach is to bench their daughter for at least one game immediately.
Suspensions and expulsions:
Automatic expulsion will occur if an athlete is found smoking, using drugs or drinking alcohol.
Automatic suspension will occur from any behavior found damaging harmful or negative as seen by the coach or spirit directors.
Behavior that can result in a verbal/written warning are:
v Inappropriate display of affection.
v Unsportsmanlike-like conduct.
v Disrespectful behavior or attitude toward coaches, players, guardians and referees.
1st: we ask that all complaints and concerns be put in writing.
2nd: the player should present the written notice to the coach for discussion.
3rd: if an acceptable solution is not attained between player / coach, then the parent and the coach should discuss the issue.
4th: if the parents and the player feel no acceptable solution has been attained, then they should approach the club directors.
Directors will make ALL attempt to be empathetic and fair; they will have the final say in all matters.
SPIRIT VOLLEYBALL CLUB believes in providing a positive/safe atmosphere to enable all athletes to grow and reach their full potential as athletes and young adults.
